TONY DUQUETTE COLLECTION
Tony Duquette was a renowned artist and designer, celebrated for his eclectic and extravagant style. He began his career in promotional advertising, but freelance work with various notable designers quickly caught the eye of Hollywood and afforded him many opportunities to work in the film industry. Duquette gained international recognition, becoming the first American artist to receive a solo exhibition at the Louvre. He also won the 1961 Tony Award for Best Costume Design in a Musical for his work on Camelot. Alongside his wife Elizabeth ("Beegle"), Duquette established Tony Duquette Studios, a hub for creative endeavors and social gatherings. He continued to produce designs until his death in 1999, leaving behind a legacy of innovation and inspiration.
