Description
Tony Duquette had an understandable fascination with Venice, Italy and would always make a point to have a stopover when traveling across the Atlantic. This mural is a manifestation of his love for the historic Italian city.
Duquette created a pen and ink sketch in 1947 of Venice that Paul Montgomery Studio then painted as a full size ink-wash mural. Retaining the original, loose appearance from Duquette's sketch, the studio also incorporated Japanese ink-wash techniques, making this piece exquisite in both appearance and execution.
